EPA List of 17 Toxics
The EPA list of 17 targeted chemicals was derived from the most heavily used Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reported pollutants. This list originated from the EPA's 33/50 program. Although the program was voluntary and completed in 1999 government and industry users continue to reduce the use of these hazardous chemicals.
